Noise

(4/20/22)

Crackling wires
Slice right down to the bone
Flesh shredding to the beat
Of cacophonous crescendos
Violent storms of static
Shatter mirrors in your front yard

She said, ”there’s no hope in these four walls,”
Before they started closing in
Contact mic on every shattered dream
Nerve endings on severed limbs
A nameless void of passion
Ruins where you once called home

An overwhelming embrace
Drenched in hellfire and black ice
I’ve found comfort in extremity
It’s so dark here all the time
Thoughts lost within the noise
I hate nothing more than myself
